We took an old Streetcar to Chinatown - an area of San Francisco that was absolutely filthy. There were shops lining both sides of each street; including furniture and decorating shops, gift shops, and clothing stores. The signs were in both Chinese and English; and there were people everywhere. The entire area was almost visually overwhelming. We passed one fish store that had the windows lined with fish tanks stuffed full of live fish waiting to be picked out by shoppers, and one tank full of slimy green frogs...
